These clips have been designed to be used on the snood, in order to make the snood removable and replaceable. The idea being that when a rig has snoods that are detachable, instead of using a different rig when only a minor adjustment is needed, the angler can simply remove (unclip) the snood from the rig body and attach (clip) another in its place to suit the situation (i.e. larger/smaller hooks or a pennel). Also using and storing these rigs is far easier, without having to untangle hook lengths (snoods) from the main body of the rig.
