Boat Reels
Most boat reels are designed with a lower gear ratio to help land some of the bigger fish you can expect to land whilst afloat. As well as a standard start drag there are a lot of reels now designed with a lever drag system which means you can adjust the drag by very small incriments to get the perfect set up. More are also now switching to continental style boat rods which can be up to 5m in length these are often paired with fized spool reels and are great for targeting smaller fish. A level wind is a sytem that guides the line on to the reel allowing you to concentrate on lading the fish is also available on a lot of models but this is really a personal preference.
